Funny thing (to me) about the Teddy Bears’ Picnic is that the 1908 instrumental recording I like seems like it’s keyed to the lyrics. For instance, at the point where the words say “at six o’clock…”, a chime strikes six times. Yet the words weren’t added to the tune until decades after the recording.
The rock station I used to listen to once snuck in a chorus of TBP when they had a half minute of spare time. It was the same recording I had (and still have), with “Teddy Bears on Parade” on the flip side.
