P.S. If it really was 57 billion Pfennige (in Reichmarks), then the inheritance would have been worth about 135 million dollars. This means the lawyer is stiffing the Captain for more than 99%, so he deserved the spanking. The massive devalutation of the Reichsmark did not begin until the 1920’s.
