How can you not smile when you read Overboard? It’s as good in its own way as Pearls or Far Side or Calvin and Hobbes or even Peanuts ever was, and yes, I’m including Opus in all his incarnations and Doonesbury back when it was funny in the 1970s. I can’t wait for Louie to do something that I expect him to do, but in such an endearing way that it is blindingly obvious, yet never patronizing. And yes, Pearls is my current favorite, only because the Rat is in charge there, and the Mice seem not to have completely taken over here yet!
