Bet the mice have a plan that is about to take effect and they need to get Raymond away from the mauve wonder. Though it was nice to see Raymond kick his kitty littered buttocks.

It must have been quite a fight. There are the same clouds of raised dust as happens when the pirates fight with their swords (which never seem to hurt anyone.)

This one has complexity written all over it. I said earlier I thought Raymond might get hurt, but this isn’t what I envisioned.

What the … hmmm not what I had thought …

Hey, I’ve got an idea for a comic strip! How about one that features a dysfunctional pirate crew indulging in harmless battles with other pirates, searching for buried treasure, griping about their leadership, going ashore and being rebuffed in attempts to pick up women in bars and…? I’m sure there are many variations on this theme that would be funny. Perhaps the ship could have a mascot, a lovable animal of some sort. I think the “ships cat” was a common fixture in days of yore, if only because they required little care and helped control the rodent population. Anyway, just a thought

Me thinks the Overboard crew is going to have a new ship mate! Looks like Jonas is defending Scratch.

Maybe Jonas is really Scratch’s toady.

Actually I’ve known a few dogs that finely did corner a cat, neither came away from those encounters very happy. In both cases the cats gave worse than they got even though the dogs were much bigger than them.

There’s a reason I call cats, “cuddly carnivores”.

Could it be that Jonas is trying to get Raymond’s full attention because Louie has broken free and tried to swim over to the ship to help Raymond? Maybe Louie’s in a heap o’ trouble?

Well, this is an interesting twist. I certainly wasn’t expecting this.

Maybe Jonas just likes to fight his own battles. But as the resident intelectual, Raymond doesn’t get to play often.

Yeah, I think this is definitely about Louie. Remember a day or two ago, Raymond tied up Louie before going over to fight Scratch? I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but I can’t wait to find out!

It’s also possible that the mouse wasn’t killed by Scratch and Jonas doesn’t was Raymond to fight Scratch for the wrong reason.
