one night well after midnight i received a call from one of our apartment renters who said she had a terrible gas smell in the house…of course i headed over there right away, and when i got there the fire department people had their ‘sniffer’ tools out looking for the leak all through the house…. as soon as i walked into the home i realized what the odor was and suggested that the lead fire fighter turn off his ‘sniffer’ tool and go smell the dog…. yep….dog had made a new skunk friend….the fire department person was a bit embarrassed… but did laugh about it… said it was a first for him…. unfortunately it wasn’t a first…or last for me..
My brother-in-law and his wife were visiting, and they decided to sleep outside on the patio. In the middle of the night, my BIL needed to answer the call of nature. Rather than go into the house and all the way down the hall to the toilet, he relieved himself on a bush in the corner of the yard.
Unfortunately, there was a skunk under that bush. He did not appreciate being urinated on, so he returned the favor.
My BIL’s wife was native American, and she gave him a new name: “Pees on Skunks.”

The fact that the skunk looks like a squirrel should’ve been Louie’s first red flag.

What a … stinky … thing to do to a trusting soul like Louie. Better watch your back, skunk, since I sense payback coming.
Happy Sunday, Crew.

Then there is most Dog’s insatiable curiosity of porcupines.
