verne: Where did you get a signed johnny football jersey? rJ: paid for it. verne: Rj, it's against ncaa rules for you to pay a player for signed memorabilia! rj: why? Verne: because he could be susceptible to influence and besmirch the sanctity of the game. rj: A game that doesn't allow a player to benefit from the sale of his jersey he made valuable by his effort? verne: it's complicated. RJ: no, it's a business....a business that thrives on cheap as in free labor. but he player gets a free education...in how little they're valued. hammy: I got a signed mini helmet! Verne: you don't have money..how did you pay for the jersey? rj: I traded him a signed twinkie....he's not a very good negotiator. hammy: And it fits!

the sanctity of the game is a joke. it always been a joke. baseball, football, soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, even sumo wrestling, sanctity of those sports has gone out the window when money gets involved.

sumo has. if a wrestler needs 1 more win to be promoted, he bribes the other wrestler to let him win. common knowledge in sumo wrestling.
