Relax, RJ. The same theorists say humans have a common ancestor with chimps, and our bathroom habits are quite different from theirs.

Wikipedia is split on whether raccoons are closer to bears or weasels. (Not that sharing an ancestor with weasels and polecats is a good thing.) The Raccoon article says that “molecular” (DNA?) analysis places them closer to bears, but the Carnivora article splits bears from Musteloidea, which includes weasels, raccoons, skunks, and the red panda. I suspect the latter classification is an older one from morphology rather than DNA.
