“weeping angel”We Whovians already knew that, and for the rest, the label isn’t going to help.

“Listen, your life could depend on this: Don’t blink. Don’t even blink. Blink and you’re dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don’t turn your back. Don’t look away. And DON’T BLINK. Good Luck.”

They’ll be fine. Hammy’s too wired to blink, and Verne has a nictitating membrane.

There seem to be a lot more Whovians here than I would have guessed.

Actually, Dr Who for 50+ years has consistently been one of the best entertainment shows on TV. Harlen Ellison, who was one of the staff for years, once said that the show was the only “pure SF” on TV.

Carey Mulligan and Kylie Minogue were the two guest stars I missed the most when they were gone.

The episode that made me fear statues, and my cat!

The killing weeping angels were scary. The “transport you back in the time stream” weeping angels didn’t make any sense.

In my opinion, it takes a bit of cogitating to work out the Weeping Angels, but once you did, they are one of the most original Doctor Who baddies to come down the pike. Far more subtle than pepperpots with plungers or clanking metal men.
“Blink” won a Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation, well-deserved. Very clever episode.
