Next is Mars?

A few years ago I was in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park at night. Most amazing night sky I’ve ever seen, and that includes my childhood growing up in rural northern Illinois.

I live about 25 miles outside Tucson, and the night skies are breathtaking.

Ha, ha, very funny.

As long their isn’t any clouds, I can see the Milky Way every night right from my deck.

I was traveling with a prior GF, she was born and raised in SoCal. We were in Yosemite and at 2 am she wakes me up, hauls me out of the tent and points at the sky, “Is that the Milky Way?” Yes, it was.

I see the moon and that is about it. And of course it is cloudy today because of the eclipse. Happens every time.

Same here in western NY

Fun fact: I read recently (Search for article in the Star Tribune: The Milky Way bar, born in Minneapolis diner, turns 100) the candy bar was named for a milkshake, and not the galaxy!

We used to see a lot of stars until the car dealership lit up the sky in lower Alabama
