This one actually made me laugh out loud…and not just an amused chuckle.

Must be his “away” uniform.

And if it has a collar, it’s not a t-shirt.

Well, thank you, Violet, I’m tired of seeing your face. Why don’t you go home and change it?

Sparky’s homage to “Krazy Kat” and Herriman’s Navaho iconography. E.g. http://www.comicstriplibrary.org/display/508 Charlie Brown is also supposed to have played a cigar box guitar like “Krazy’s” in these early strips but I think we haven’t seen it so far.

I like the black shirt with the yellow stripe better than CB’s usual shirt.

Except his shirt has only been officially orange in the Sunday strips. The colorizers of these early strips are seeing into the future by making his shirt the more yellowish color.

Whoa. 50+ years of reading Peanuts and I never knew CB owned another shirt (besides a baseball jersey for games)

Violet is one of the few characters that varied her look. She alternated between braids and a ponytail for a while.

Schulz supposedly added the stripe to CB’s shirt so it wouldn’t look so plain. And it wasn’t always gold. Sometimes in the Sunday strip it was red or blue.
