I had an old Stromberg-Carlson radio in my room. I’d love the soft glow as the tubes slowly warmed up. Remember going to the tube testing kiosk at the grocery store

As a small child in the early 60s I believed that singers actually went to the radio station to play live. Where I got that idea in those days I have no clue.

Poor Freddie Mercury would be sad with CB’s attitude!

Speaking from the future CB, it doesn’t get any better, and the same with a device called TV and streaming services.

Charlie Brown’s problem is his radio doesn’t have a power cord. How is he supposed to plug it in?

I blame the Communications Act of 1934.

    But I always do.

I find old radios like that at flea markets and wonder why they’re so beat up. It was the lousy programming!

Remember when, on certain winter evenings, you could pick up AM radio stations from far, far away? On crystal clear nights, my brother and I would turn on the radio after midnight just outside of DC and listen to WLS out of Chicago, or ‘Juicy Brucie’ on WBZ in Boston.

Change the station. Don’t kick the radio.
