"Here's one end of the string right here..." Lucy points to the ground as she and Linus walk along.<br> <br> "I'll bet he never got it up at all..." Linus remarks as he and Lucy follow the string.<br> <br> "Sometimes I think Charlie Brown should give up trying to fly kites.." "He sure has an awful time...This is the worst tangled kite string I've ever seen!" Linus agrees. They follow the trail of string.<br> <br> "Fantastic!" Linus exclaims. He and Lucy stand on either side of a huge knot of string.<br> <br> "Here's the kite in this tree..it's torn practically to shreds!" Lucy notes as she gazes at a tangled and broken kite.<br> <br> Lucy declares, "What a shambles!" "It's like viewing the battlefield after a great struggle," Linus adds. They stare at the bent wooden fence covered with stringa and the ground covered with kite pieces.<br> <br> "I think I'll try to see if I can get ths mess untangled...You go see if you can find Charlie Brown..." Lucy instructs Linus as she kneels down in front of the the tangled knot of string. Linus stands beside her.<br> <br> "Don't bother!" says the ball of string. Lucy and Linus jump back in surprise.<br> <br>
