"Linus is walking along on the sidewalk with Snoopy following behind him. Linus is practicing his lines for the Christmas program: “And it came to pass in those days, that there went out A…A…???” <br> <br> Linus stops and with a grimace on his face says: “RATS!” Snoopy sits and looks up at him. <br> <br> Linus turns to Snoopy and says: “How can a person look forward to Christmas when he knows he has to memorize a piece for a Christmas program? <br> <br> Linus goes on reciting “And it came to pass that…that…in those days that Augustus Caesar, I mean Caesar Augustus, sent… sent…????” As Linus struggles with his lines he puts his hand up to his chin thinking. <br> <br> Linus lifts his arms up into the air and yells: ”I CAN’T DO IT! I CAN’T! I CAN’T!” Snoopy’s ear go up and his eyes open wide as he is startled by Linus’s yelling. <br> <br> Linus is now leaning over a tree stump in the snow pounding his fist on it says: “I’LL NEVER BE ABLE TO MEMORIZE THAT PIECE! NEVER!!” <br> <br> Linus sit down on the stump with a sad face saying;” I’m doomed!” <br> <br> Linus now has his faced buried in his hands and he has mumbled something. Charlie Brown walks up to him questioningly. <br> <br> Linus lifts up his head and says to Charlie Brown who is standing in front of him with his hands in his pockets: ”OH, Hi, Charlie Brown.. Say, How ate YOU coming along on your piece for the Christmas program?” <br> <br> Linus stands up and is face to face with Charlie Brown saying: “You know, If none of us learn our pieces, there won’t BE any program, will there? If none of us are able to memorize our pieces, they…” <br> <br> Charlie Brown cuts Linus off and holds his arms out and recites: “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.” <br> <br> Charlie Brown puts his hands in his pockets and walks away leaving Linus just standing there. <br> <br> Linus is now lying on his back on top of Snoopy’s doghouse with a frown saying: “This is going to be a black Christmas…” Snoopy pokes his head out from the door of the doghouse. <br> <br>" dialogue-text,"Linus is walking along on the sidewalk with Snoopy following behind him.
