Charlie Brown stands on the pitcher's mound in the rain. Lucy walks up wearing a raincoat and carrying an umbrella and says, "I don't think there is anyone in the world who is dumber than my brother!"<BR><BR> Lucy continues, "He is really dumb! Why just the other day I was telling him that he was so dumb he didn't even know enough to come in out of the . . ."<BR><BR> Lucy stammers, "Oh, I . . . I . . . I didn't . . . I mean I . . . I . . ."<BR><BR> Lucy walks away and says, "Oh, well . . . If you're going to go around watching every word you say all the time, you'll never get much said!" Charlie Brown sighs!<BR><BR>
Actually, I’d guess Lucy really did mean it, but she’s growing just a wee bit more subtle in her putdowns as she gets older.
