Schroeder plays the piano. Lucy leans against the piano ans sighs.<BR><BR> Lucy turns and says to Schroeder, "You know, you puzzle me . . . You really do! You're a real puzzle!"<BR><BR> Lucy continues, "I try to be nice to you . . . I try to say nice things . . . I try to be the sort of person I think you probably like . . ."<BR><BR> Lucy stands up and says, "But you don't react! You don't do anything! You don't say anything . . . I talk to you and you don't even answer!"<BR><BR> Lucy sits back down and says, "Sometimes I get the feeling that you don't even know I exist!"<BR><BR> Linus flicks a note at Lucy which lands on her nose.<BR><BR> Lucy smiles brightly and says, "He likes me!"<BR><BR>
I love that Lucy is stymied, for all the cruelty she displays to CB and Linus. She can’t even see that Schroeder isn’t oblivious to that. But, really, what does she expect from a 6 yr-old boy?
