"Pont a Moussoin" reads the sign the World War I Flying Ace stares at.<BR><BR> "Ah! The Moselle River!" Snoopy thinks, as he stands on a bank and looks down at a stream.<BR><BR> Snoopy sits with his paws on the ground and thinks, "Here's the World War I pilot down behind enemy lines..."<BR><BR> "By night I sneak through the abandoned trenches.." The panel is in silhouette.<BR><BR> "By day I sleep on haytacks.." Snoopy lies on his back on top of a haystack..."<BR><BR> "Suddenly it's night again...I must continues my journey across France to reach the Channel..." Snoopy slithers along the ground.<BR><BR> "What's this? A small French farm house! Anybody home?" Snoopy stands in front of his doghouse.<BR><BR> "Ah, Mademoiselle..do not be afraid..I am a pilot with the Allies..my plane was shot down by the Red Baron..." Snoopy stands in the doorway and raises his arms to explain.<BR><BR> "She does not understand ze English... Ah, but she will understand that I am a handsome young pilot..." Snoopy raises his eyebrows.<BR><BR> "And she? She is a beautiful French girl..Soup? Ah, yes, mademoiselle, that would be wonderful! A little potato soup, and I will be on my way..." Snoopy sits at a table behind a lit candle. [PANEL 11]: He clasps his hands: "But how can I bear to leave her? Perhaps someday I can return..au revoir, mademoiselle, au revoir! Ah, what a pity...her heart is breaking...Do not cry, little one...Do not cry..." [PANEl 12]: "Farewell! Farewell!" Snoopy stands outside in profile, and waves. [PANEL 13]: Snoopy stomps along, thinking, "Curse the Red Baron and his kind! Curse the wickedness in this world! Curse the evil that causes all this unhappiness! Curse the-" [PANEL 14]: Charlie Brown sits up in bed and glances at Snoopy, who lies weeping next to him. Charlie Brown thinks, "I think missions are getting to be too much for him.."<BR><BR>
