Snoopy lies on top of his doghouse. It is night.<BR><BR> "Z": He's asleep.<BR><BR> "WHAT'S THAT?!" Snoopy lifts his head.<BR><BR> Snoopy sits up. He thinks, "It sounds like a fire engine...Or is it an ambulance? What a weird sound..."<BR><BR> Snoopy lies on his stomach and thinks, "I guess it's a long way of...Some poor guy is in trouble..."<BR><BR> He lies on his back.<BR><BR> "Rats! Now, I'm wide awake...My stomach feels kind of peculiar...I wonder if I'm getting sick..." Snoopy lifts his head and an ear stands up.<BR><BR> "That's the trouble with living alone...I could die in my bed, and no one would ever know..." Snoopy thinks as he lies on his back.<BR><BR> "Actually, no one would even care..I'm not much use to anyone...I wonder if I AM getting sick..my toes feel numb..." Snoopy lifts his head and feet, examining his toes.<BR><BR> He lies on his stomach: "It's two o'clock in the morning, and I'm wide awake...Everything is so dark...and so quiet...I'm all alone..." [PANEL 11]: He lies on his back and thinks, "My life is hopeless..I have no future..I have nothing to live for..." He sweats. [PANEL 12]: Snoopy sits up and thinks, "On the other hand, perhaps my metabolism is just down..." [PANEL 13]: Snoopy lies on his back, asleep: "Z"<BR><BR>
