Patty builds a sand castle in the sandbox. Lucy gets out of the sandbox and says, "All right, then! Build it your own way!"<BR><BR> Lucy walks past Charlie Brown and says, "And don't you go telling me I have to play ball today! Nobody tells me what to do! Nobody!!"<BR><BR> Sally jumps rope. Lucy shouts, "No, I don't want to jump rope! Stop asking me!"<BR><BR> Lucy walks past Snoopy and says, "Get out of my way you stupid beagle!!"<BR><BR> Linus tumbles forward with books. Lucy holds a book and shouts, "What are you doing with my comic books? I oughta clobber you!!"<BR><BR> Lucy slams the door.<BR><BR> Lucy makes a sandwich.<BR><BR> Lucy sits down with her sandwich and says, "Being crabby all day makes you hungry."<BR><BR>

It’s all that great anger, when you’ve been crabby for a while, that brings on the hunger, due to the adrenaline having been used up.

Not only does no one tell Lucy what to do, you also don’t keep asking her if she wants to engage in a pastime(what she yells at Sallly for, in panel 4), nor do you take her things, WITHOUT her permission(what she hollers at Linus for, of course, in Panel 6.) That used to kill me—still does—Schulz’s traditionally depicting the Peanuts characters as “flipping,” or “getting blown over,” as a symbol of being startled, at being yelled at.
