Peppermint Patty and Franklin sit at their desks in school. Peppermint Patty holds her foot in the air and says, "Look, Franklin, I'm wearing shoes!"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty continues, "I learned that you can't fight city hall, battalion headquarters and the dress code." Franklin says, "No, I guess you can't."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty looks at her foot and sheds a tear. She says, "These are nice shoes, but I miss my sandals . . . Snif!"<BR><BR> Franklin says, "All I know is, any rule that makes a little girl cry has to be a bad rule!"<BR><BR>
It’s a sweet sentiment, but not necessarily true. A rule against, for example, letting young children watch R-rated movies; they might really really want to and cry because of that. Doesn’t mean that’s a bad rule.
