Franklin and Peppermint Patty sit at their desks in school. Franklin looks at a book and reads, "The metric system is easy to learn and understand." Peppermint Patty replies, "Ha!"<BR><BR> Franklin continues, "Time saved in teachers certain concepts can be devoted to teaching more important concepts and skills." Peppermint Patty replies, "Ha!"<BR><BR> Franklin asks, "How can I explain anything to you if you keep saying 'Ha!' all the time?"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty turns around and says, "Huh?"<BR><BR>
I remember when people were predicting that the United States would convert to the Metric System by the end of the 1970’s. We are one of the very few nations that do not officially use the Metric System.
