Lucy walks along the baseball field exclaiming,"Hold it! Hold it!" Charlie Brown stands on the pitcher's mound and turns towards her asking,"What's the matter?"<BR><BR> She walks over to him and replies,"Before we start the game, Charlie Brown, you have to ask the ball if it wants to play...." He shouts,"I have to What?"<BR><BR> She replies,"You have to ask the ball if it wants to play! You asked the other team, didn't you? And you asked all of your own players, didn't you? Of course, you did!"<BR><BR> She continues,"Now, you have to ask the ball! After all, the ball is the one who's going to get hit all the time, isn't it? Don't you think it should have a choice?"<BR><BR> She concludes,"Go ahead, Charlie Brown....ask the ball....ask the ball if it wants to play...."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown rolls his eyes and grimaces; he says,"I feel like a fool." He looks at the ball in his glove and says,"Hey, ball.....do you want to play in the game today?"<BR><BR> He says,"It didn't answer." She replies,"It's trying to make up its mind....I guess I'll go home...."<BR><BR> As she walks away, he exclaims,"Go home?!" She replies,"I'm not going to stand around all day while some stupid ball tries to make up its mind!"<BR><BR>
