Sally holds a an envelope and approaches Charlie Brown. She says, "Here, big brother . . You got a letter."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown holds the letter and reads, "The Environmental Protection Agancy."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown opens the letter. Sally says, "It's something about you biting a tree . . ."<BR><BR> Charlie Brown asks, "Do you always read my mail?" Sally asks, "Do you always bite trees?"<BR><BR>
Unbeknownst to Charlie Brown, an EPA agent must have seen the bitten part of the Kite-Eating Tree shortly after CB left. This was reported by the Administrator of the EPA, Douglas M. Costle, in Washington DC. That would explain why the EPA sent that letter.
