Lucy stands on the baseball field shouting,"We're right behind you, pitcher!" "Sort of!"<BR><BR> She continues,"Throw it past 'im, pitcher!"<BR><BR> Charlie Brown stands atop the pitcher's mound and prepares to pitch.<BR><BR> He pitches.<BR><BR> The ball is hit back with a pow, knocking all of his clothes off, except his shorts.<BR><BR> As he lies dazed atop the mound, Lucy approaches saying,"OOOO! You look so cute lying there, Charlie Brown, with you little Easter toes sparkling in the sun."<BR><BR> He sits up and yells,"GET BACK IN CENTER FIELD WHERE YOU BELONG!"<BR><BR> She walks off saying,"How can a pitcher be so crabby on Easter?"<BR><BR>

They were playing baseball on a holiday? But then, there was also that other Sunday strip, from circa 1966, when it turned out they were playing baseball on Mother’s Day, which made them feel SO GUILTY about forgetting ALL ABOUT MOM, while each one pondered over how KIND his/her mother always was to him/her, that they all passed on continuing the game, and went home(everyone except CB, who had remembered HIS mother, with a bouquet of pink roses, and a Mother’s Day card.)
