Peppermint Patty stand on a chair by the sink, looing in the bathroom's mirror.

She walks down the lane with Marcie and exclaims,"You know what I am, Marcie? I'm a weed!" She continues,"The world is filled with beautiful plants and flowers, but I'm just an ugly weed."

She continues,"I'm a poor ugly weed trying to push her way up through the sidewalk of life!" Marcie replies,"That's a great metaphor, sir."

They stop and Marcie continues,"Did you know that weeds have a wide tolerance for environmental conditions and the rare ability to exploit recently disturbed terrain?"

Peppermint Patty asks,"What in the world does that mean?" Marcie replies,"You can roll with the punches, sir!

Peppermint Patty puts her finger in her mouth and says,"By golly, Marcie, I think you're right...."

She sits at her classroom desk and lounges back in her seat. She exclaims,"I've got my confidence back, Ma'am! Ask me anything! Give me your best shot!"

Peppermint Patty sits on the floor outside of the principal's office. She says,"I'll bet the principal would be surprised to find a weed growing in front of his office..."

You’d think her teacher would appreciate and be impressed by Patty’s show of confidence. But apparently she’s the stereotypical authoritarian children-should-be-seen-and-not-heard hag.
