Peppermint Patty stands in a doorway with a book over her head looking out at the rain. She dashes off through the rain.

She sits at her classroom desk, dripping water, with the book still over her head. She says,"Yes, Ma'am this is a loose-leaf binder that I have on my head."

She continues,"Well, you see, it was raining on my way to school this morning..."

Marcie watches her as she continues,"No, Ma'am, I really can't take it off because..." She screams as Marcie tries to tug it off and yanks her hair in the process.

She grabs her throbbing head and continues,"Because my hair is caught in the binder..."

Marcie sits with the binder in her hand and Peppermint Patty grabs her head and sticks out her tongue. The latter says,"She got it off! Marcie got it off! Whew! What a relief!"

She flips through her binder and says,"My homework? It's right here in my binder that I put over my head when my hair got all wet from walking to school in the rain."

She rips out a sheet of paper and holds it up smiling. She says,"Don't sigh like that, Ma'am...it breaks my heart..."

I always hated to go to school with a bad case of ‘binder head’.
