I'm afraid I may have gotten a little too intellectual . . ."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty asks, "Do you think maybe I should 'dumb it down'?"<BR><BR> Marcie says, "No, I think it's dumb enough already." Peppermint Patty slumps in a seat and says, "Maybe I'll move my desk to the other side of the room . ."<BR><BR>
According to some accounts, Ernie Bushmiller, the creater of “Nancy”, was the one who coined the term “dumb down” in describing his own approach to writing Nancy, so that nearly everyone would be able to get the joke.
