Linus and Snoopy are walking. Linus says, "Now, let me do the talking..."<BR><BR> Snoopy thinks, "Why not?" They stand on a doorstep and Linus rings the bell. RING!<BR><BR> Linus greets the girl who sticks her head out: "Good morning, I'm here to tell you about the 'Great Pumpkin.'" The kid asks, "Who's that with you?"<BR><BR> Linus turns around to look at Snoopy: "This is my follower..all leaders of inspiring movements have followers."<BR><BR> "Here, have a cookie.." Linus hands Snoopy a cookie.<BR><BR> Linus explains to the girl: "You see, I'm actually the founder of the 'Great Pumpkin' movement..." Snoopy chews.<BR><BR> Linus hands Snoopy another cookie: "Here, have a cookie.."<BR><BR> Linus raises his arms, saying: "On Halloween night, the 'Great Pumpkin' rises out of the pumpkin patch and flies through the air with toys for all the children...."<BR><BR> Linus turns to Snoopy once more: "Here, have a cookie.." [PANEL 10]: "Well, I'm not interested in your 'Great Pumpkin' so go away.." says the girl.<BR><BR> [PANEL 11]: Linus calls the the closed door: "That's all right..thank you for letting us visit with you.." [PANEL 12] Linus and Snoopy are walking. Linus remarks: "She didn't seem impressed that I have a follower.." Snoopy thinks, "I need another cookie.."<BR><BR>
This seems to be the beginning of a period in Peanuts history that really annoyed me: where Snoopy was reduced to doing little more than complaining about not getting enough cookies.
