At seven years old, one day when riding the school bus home, I was looking out the window at the sidewalks baking in the sun, the rough, sandy texture capturing the sunlight and sort of sparkling, and I thought, “I know that’s a sidewalk, but…..do I REALLY know that’s a sidewalk? Or do I just THINK I know that’s a sidewalk?”
Originally Linus was 5 years older than Sally. (“Five years! I know it doesn’t seem like much now, but, good grief, when I’m 95 she’ll only be 90!” One of my all-time favorite lines in “Peanuts.”) Later, when Schulz was living his comic strip over, he changed all kinds of ages and age differences. That would be a nice power to have in real life……..
Yes, but she is forever young. I get your point, though. Even if she grew up, she wouldn’t be much of a deep thinker. It made her kind of lovable, until she became disrespectful to her brother and Snoopy.

She is too young to have deep thoughts.

That wound up as a song in Snoopy the Musical.
But if sci-fi has taught me anything it’s that time is a very dangerous thing to meddle with. So be careful what you wish for Linus!

I know a lot, but it doesn’t really make much difference.

Of course, in later years, Sally will adopt her famous philosophies of “Why me?”, and “How should I know?”

For the few things I’d like to change, it isn’t going back. Then again, I would know all the Superbowl and World Series winners. I’d place a few bets.

Anyone else think Linus grew up and had a kid named Calvin?
