When my husband & I were dating, he had a gorgeous 1977 Pontiac Firebird in teal. After we got married, the old biddies I worked with said to me, “Now you can make him get rid of the ‘toy’.” My answer: “First of all, I don’t ‘make’ him do anything and he doesn’t ‘make’ me do anything. We’re partners. Second…if he gets rid of that car…I’LL kill him!” We kept it until we had to move to another city (long story).
