How’d the old man’s* son and daughter-in-law (or daughter and son-in-law) come up with a name like Truffles?

*No offense of calling the girl’s grandfather that.

Berke Breathed had a pig named Truffles in some of his later strips (might have been introduced in Outland).

Reminds me of a missionary I used to know who “found” a bunch of wood out in the countryside. Just sitting there. So he loaded it up and took it home. It never occurred to him (or so he said) that the wood was on someone’s property, and someone had put it there. Therefore it belonged to someone. Therefore, he had nicked it. “But it was just sitting there for days!” Yeah.

Uh oh. Where’s that smoke coming from? Oh, it’s Sally, screaming in the distance.

One of the few Peanuts characters to have white eyes with pupils instead of just black dots for eyes.

WOW, Truffles is drawn weird.

OK Linus, now that you have found a Truffle, what are you going to do now?

I remember this girl from a cartoon special. Don’t recall much about her. Talk about a deep cut. Just a reminder how huge the internal universe of ‘Peanuts’ is, for such a simple strip.

This Truffles is kinda cute, a big improvement from the fungi. And snoopy need not have to use his useless smell pattern to figure out truffles.

Wow, I don’t remember this character at all. Is it just me, or is something about her face a tad… unsettling?
