With today’s high inflation the price of celery isn’t sticking to the cellar, but rapidly inflating so much that buying a celery stalk on Wall Street would be a good investment.

(I’ve long thought that celery must be where the idea of tooth floss came from!!)

I have no absolute set time to feed my pooch. She is usually fed soon after I eat lunch, which is quite close to noon. But, during the hot, hot summer, she’ll prefer staying in her cool spot over food any day. Then her meal might be delayed by a couple of hours when the day cools down to a mere 90.

Celery sticks? Snoopy. No one is buying that. Not one person.

Snoopy. SNOOPY. C’mon.

Snoopy has to have an appetizer.

A few celery sticks, in a tall glass with vodka and Bloody Mary mix?

And why not a little crudités before dinner?

I top off my cat’s food dish with some kibble to much on during the night every night at 10 PM. My cat knows this. He knows the time this is supposed to happen. And every night we go through the same routine:

9:30

Hercules: Meow.

Me: Herkie, it’s too early.

9:31

Hercules: Meow.

Me: Herkie, not yet.

9:32 – 9:50 every minute

Hercules: Meow.

Me; Herkie, knock it off!

9:55

Hercules: MEOW

Me: Oh, all right!

Hercules: meow…purrr (got ’im!)

Other nights, he will sit on the coffee table in front of me as I’m watching tv……and just…stare…sometimes for 20 minutes straight, until he finally gets his way.

Ughh, celery sticks…I’m not a fan of celery except for small amounts in a dish like gumbo. Raw celery does unpleasant things to my stomach as do cucumbers.

At least Snoopy’s follows his diet and only eats at meal times, unlike me

Snoopy, if you “fall back,” it might be an hour and a half!

That’s like my cats. They will start wanting dinner an hour or more before it is time to feed them. And the worst part is that there is usually leftover food in their dishes from breakfast!

Maybe some peanut butter on a celery stick dotted with raisins.

I didn’t know Charlie served appetizers.
