So I take it that you’re carrying around a bumper sticker worth of an idea as your philosophy, Linus, and are just now realizing it! Because Charlie Brown’s is a perfectly good one!

Realise that those who are quickest to criticise you wouldn’t even consider changing their ways to accomodate you.

Spike mistakes a weather satellite for a U.F.O. and makes himself ready for an extraterrestrial invasion of Needles.

I wonder what are those three things.

My philosophy is to never let up! Not for one day, not for one hour, not for und minute!

That’s a lot for a bumper sticker. For someone to be able to read it they’d have to be very close and might end up rear-ending you.

I think Charlie does have a very good philosophical aim. And in these days and times, one might just settle for one thing to look forward to and nothing to dread. I don’t think that will fit on a bumper sticker, Linus. But, Jesus’ great commandment would: Love One Another.

That wouldn’t even make a good bumper sticker.

Not much, though

I look forward to heaven. I look forward to another day with my wife. I look forward to the day my wife retires. (She works because she wants to.)

Dreads? I dread becoming non compos mentis. I dread being a burden to my wife…

And almost 50 years later, we still haven’t learned that lesson. The only difference is, we now call it a meme.

Actually, some bumper stickers contain pretty good philosophy….

There is? Someone oughta tell that to the bumper sticker companies. Sure 90% of bumper stickers have nothig to do with philosophies, but if a philosphy can make big bucks, it’s gonna end up on bumper stickers. And T-shirts.

Every good philosophy can be reduced to a bumper sticker.
