Back in those days, you could go to almost any retail department store & have a sit down with Santa (or one of his surrogates). Be wary of any Santa whose breath would knock a buzzard off a garbage truck from 50 ft. away.
Since when did letters to Santa ever get returned? They were usually kept by the mail service, but not returned. They let the kids think their letter was being considered by Santa before making his Xmas eve run.
The year, Christmas 1948, I was 5 and my brother was 9. We lived in San Diego. The local radio station would read the letters that kids sent to Santa. I don’t know how the radio station got our letter, but I remember hearing my brother’s and my name and the letter we wrote to Santa on the radio that we listened to every night.
Between this and the people giving him rocks on Halloween, I really think Charlie Brown’s true problem is that there’s WAY too many sociopaths in his life.
Still hoping on Monday 1975 Peanuts strips resume, but will it be the Peppermint Parry/Marcie football sequence that should have been rerun this week if it hadn’t been for the pre Thanksgiving GoComics.com site shutdown?

No way Santa Claus would pull an Elvis Presley on Charlie Brown (return to sender, address unknown, no such number, no such zone).

It’s always a bad sign to find oneself being ghosted by Santa.

Charlie Brown forgot to pay proper postage.

Blame it all on a little mouse who called Santa a fraudulent myth.

Ah, this is worse than getting a rock on Halloween; might be the saddest strip of all.

But you’re just writing them out today Charlie Brown—I saw you over at Peanuts Begins just a minute ago.

To be fair, Charlie asked for more baseball stuff, and Santa is tired of enabling him.

Not to worry little fella, Santa can read the letters without opening. He has more than x ray reading eyes.
