Anyone notice how a girl slugging a guy is considered totally ok, normal and good for a few laughs? Then when you tell people that in domestic violence there are actually almost as many battered men as woman, nobody wants to believe it – but the stats are there if you know where to look (NOT from police records… (men do NOT go to the police when they are beaten.. the REAL figures come from the hospitals and are NOT the stats that most people know about. In fact, the highest level of domestic violence isn’t even heterosexual… it is between lesbians. But telling people that women use violence as often as men just isn’t “acceptable”.)Imagine the outcry if this comic had been showing the boys bashing the girls… people wouldn’t be smiling and accepting things the way they do when the roles are reversed. Because we are conditioned to accept women’s violence as normal. (Think of how many films have a scene where a woman, out of anger or frustration, hauls off and smacks a man across the face … everyone accepts this as fine and dandy, and many sit-coms use such scenes and people laugh! Nobody stops for a second to say"Excuse me, but being a woman doesn’t give you more right to hit someone than if you are a man; BOTH men and women should control themselves and either walk away from a situation or use words instead of violence to deal with the problem.
The entire quote is “Don’t Call Me ‘Sir’ I’m no d**ned officer” sometimes with “I work for a living” added. Inside joke told to The Count by a Former (Active Duty) Old Salt United States Marine. Semper Fi!
