When my younger brother started to play baseball (around 5 or 6), the adults pitched to the kids, but one of the kids stood on the pitcher’s mound for defensive purposes. I remember watching one game where my brother was the defensive player on the mound and the batter cracked a seriously hard line drive right at my brother’s head. I thought he was going to die. Amazingly, he snapped his glove up and caught it. I was impressed.
T-Ball started in the late 1950’s and started spreading in the 1960’s. Kids that age (generally up to age 7) can’t throw a strike nor can a kid that age hit a moving pitch. It’s usually replaced at a slightly older age by “coach pitch” who is trying hard to throw easy and to hit the kids bats. Kids finally graduate to their peers pitching against them. No T-Ball in this Peanuts cartoon.

Reminds me of the old classic joke. How do you get down from an elephant? You don’t. You get down from a duck.

Question: Can the kid throw the ball past the Pitcher’s Mound? Halfway to the Plate? How far can he throw?
Ellis97 8 months ago
You need to walk down, Austin.
gantech 8 months ago
Presumably the same way you got up.

Oh come on, for pity sake! The pitcher has to have more mass than the ball!

Austin is lucky then lowered the mound in 1969.

He can lay down and then roll off the mound

Poor Austin, he didn’t read the fine print. This position is for the whole season. He doesn’t get down till the snows come and he can slide down.

Wait a minute. Charlie is passing the coveted pitching position to someone else? Is he taking team managing seriously?

Another humiliation for the baseball coach :(

Call the famous helicopter pilot Woodstock and his Snoopycopter. If they can get someone off a barn roof, a pitcher’s mound will be easy.

As you pass 75 heading for 80, height appears much more exaggerated than at 65. I’m having trouble climbing the curb to pick up after my dogs.

Best way off the mound in peanuts :Linedrive that causes you to spin in the air , losing items of clothing , and landing off the mound .
