This could be some Halloween/Great Pumpkin practice a few days before Halloween.

Linus doesn’t believe in the Great Pumpkin, he worships him.

I’ve always remembered the vey top panel because it features the Great Pumpkin himself! It’s the only time I can recall Charles Shulz actually showing him in the strip.

And here’s cult leader Linus, trying to brainwash people into following his Cult of the Great Pumpkin. Never ends well for anyone that listens to him.

Looks more like a hobby donkey than a hobby horse.

Should have just brought the plane, Snoop. Or will the Allies not authorize the fuel expense unless you’re fighting the Red Baron?

The next morning Linus wakes up with the head of the hobbyhorse in his bed.

It might have been funnier to leave the thought balloon out in the last panel and just have Snoopy rolling his eyes, OR with an intense look on his face, like he’s really into it.

Linus is such a smart kid to be spreading this nonsense. Oh well, everyone has a little bit of crazy in them.

“The Great Pumpkin” is a Schulz classic … I’ve come to wonder what Linus learned, as I know him to be studious, that brought him to believe in The Great Pumpkin … ??? Happy Halloween, and don’t forget, Daylight Savings Time ends on November 2nd. ;)
