There are actually four versions of this painting that Munch produced, and oddly enough, one of them was indeed stolen in 2004 (recovered two years later). Still, $11 million is a bargain! Another version sold at sotheby’s for 119 million (10x Rat’s asking price).
That’s the trouble with this strip… it makes me go look this stuff up :) :)
