Pig: I had a job interview today. They asked me what my greatest weakness was. Goat: Yeah. That's a common interview question. It's designed to see how creatively you can compliment yourself. Pig: That's what that's supposed to do? Goat: Yeah. So people say, "I work too hard." or "I care too much..." Why? What'd you say? Pig: I'm dumb as rocks.

My greatest weakness? Getting ticked at being asked: “What’s your greatest weakness?”

And as honest as the day is long.

Out of his own mouth, for all who have maintained that Pig isn’t dumb, just naive (or the like), myself included: Pig is dumb.

Greatest weakness? Difficulty with stupid questions. What a lot of people don’t realize, interviewing is a two-way street. The job candidate should be interviewing the company as much as the company is interviewing the candidate. So if they ask a stupid question like that, give them one of the stock stupid answers (“I work too hard”, etc.), then at the end of the interview, when they ask you if you have any questions for them, ask them, “In your opinion as an employee, what’s the biggest heartburn working for this company?”

That would be an asset for some jobs. Keeps you from getting bored by the menial tediousness. Kinda like Forest Gump — he was a great grounds keeper because he didn’t get bored mowing grass all day!

I, dunnow, somehow I fear that just too many people are just being too insensitive towards rocks today.

I had a prospect respond to that question by saying that her weaknesses were secret and she could not share them……needless to say!

I feel sorry for the people that still say pig isn’t an idiot. They’re worse off than he is. At least he realizes what he is. I’ve been calling pig an idiot since I started reading this strip.

I’ve interviewed people for engineering jobs on occasion and received similar responses. There was an older gentleman who said he just wanted something easy to coast into retirement with. He was impressive up to that point.

For an interview, be honest, but don’t be PAINFULLY honest! There’s ways to be truthful without making yourself look like an idiot!

I’m always tempted to say, “I have little tolerance for stupid questions.”

Honesty. They’ll probably hire him and use that against him. Hire him at $15.50 an hour then pay him $3.50 an hour after making up all these additional fake taxes as an excuse.
