Late brother Billy would’ve been a better choice; at least he’d bring beer.

Jimmy Carter, best President of the 20th century. He tried to actually follow the Constitution. Both the Right and the Left hated him for it.

The Crocs should be happy, based on past experience of his fondness for bad guys, Jimmy should be on their side.

Mediation worked so well with Hitler. (That’s sarcasm to you who think the world started with your birth. You can Google Neville Chamberlain and Czechoslovakia.)

    Excellent strip!

The Crocs would obviously see Jimmy as a character just ‘asking’ to be shot at.

There was no mediation in the Cuban crisis. Kennedy was talking to Khrushchev directly. Besides, I think it wasn’t mediation that resolved the Cuban crisis, it was mutually assured destruction. (During the crisis U.S. Army troops in Germany — GERMANY! — received yellow fever vaccinations. I wish I still had my shot card.)

Actually, mediation requires the participation of a third party (the mediator). This is how it differs from negotiation.
