Think Nab is on to something. Those acts of violence do not sound “random” and they were not likely caused by illegal Latin American immigrants. Not necessarily Muslims, there are plenty of home-grown America haters.
As to the comic, embarrassingly bad timing, as we all saw in the Parisian “hand up don’t shoot” video. Seems like leftists always step in it.
This strip is obviously a comment on the militarization of the police. US police have in recent years been given a role not previously theirs, and it has been to the detriment of society as a whole. By the way, the latest act of terror in this country – a bombing at an NAACP office – has as it’s prime suspect a middle-aged white guy.
If the police have become more militarized, it is in response to the militarization of the criminals. Remember Commissioner Gordon’s speech about "escalation"at the end of one of the Batman movies? (I know, fictional movie, but the the point is valid.)
And you are obviously a racist and have a victim mentality about everything. Go troll somewhere else with people that like to hear your tiny violin (MSNBC)
Wow, that comment was way stupid. Noticed the militarization of the cops lately, buddy? Anyway, I don’t think Stephan was attacking cops here, it looks like a little joke based on current issues but not an attack. I come from a family of cops and they are all mad as hell at the bad cops out there who make their job more dangerous with their racism and overreactive violence. if you want to be mad at someone be mad at the Repubs who have cut cop budgets and retirements and put more deadly weapons on the streets for them to deal with.
Yeah, he looks mighty tough, but ol’ Barney just has the one bullet, and he still has to keep it in his shirt pocket, so you can probably talk to him in relative safety.
What about the militarization of the Rednecks in the Southern US and their “Open-Carry” while shopping at Wal-Mart? Since when does someone need to sling an M-16 over their shoulder to go down and buy a sack of Jerky and a case of Coors?
Something to think about:According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, there are about 200 police arrest-related deaths of blacks each year (between 300 and 400 for whites). That number pales in comparison with the roughly 7,000 annual murders of blacks, 94 percent of which are committed by blacks. Those statistics might mean that this brown Goat has roughly 35 to 1 more risk of being killed by another brown Goat.
“Simply put, although nearly three times as many Whites were arrested, Blacks and Hispanics were far more likely to die as a result.”…Did they happen to mention the ratio of arrests involving active resistance and violent response to detainment as it relates to the cause of deaths in the process of arrest?Did they mention if the parties who died were armed or attempted to use force of arms against the arresting officers?Statistics are a poor substitute for knowledge.
Honestly, this is one of the most depressingly accurate comic strips I have ever seen. Although I have nothing but respect for the police officers who actually do their job, there are far too many who abuse its power.

Dispatch, patch me in to animal control. There is some livestock here that seems to have gotten out of their pens.
naturally_easy almost 10 years ago
That doesn’t matter, because neither goat nor pig have just committed a crime so the nice police officer won’t hurt them.
