So you noticed they are rich. Did you also notice how many alarmists trying to persuade us that CAGW will cause huge sea-level rise own coastal properties? Al Gore is the most prominent of course, although David Suzuki probably the most hypocritical. I’ll start taking a problem seriously when those telling me it’s a problem act as if it’s a problem.

OK, I understand. My Nutzoid-to-English dictionary and phrase book says “blind religious faith” in Nutzoid means “evidence based expert consensus” in English.

The disbelief in the existence of experts and expert testimony (a peculiar form of “atheism”) was demonstrated a few years ago by a print ad that was headlined something like “300 scientists who don’t believe in evolution,” accompanied by three hundred signatures. When checked out, the “scientists” listed turned out to be pharmacists, electricians, mathematicians, and such… or scientists in fields unrelated to biology, geology, paleontology, or medicine.

The response from the actual experts was to start the Steve Project, which listed scientists in fields actually related to evolutionary science… but only if they were named Steve. The name Steve is shared by one percent of the American population. The published list has grown and currently stands at over 1,400 names.

So, even in a highly educated nation that has produced such Steves, many still believe Russian propaganda, FOX News, and Donald Trump.

Why, Rat? So the rest of us can subsidize their FEMA assistance grants? Besides, those are just their vacation homes; they rent them the other 50 weeks of the year.

The problem is that the rich living there are all baby boomers or older; so by the time the water rises enough to overrun barriers and affect them, they’ll all be dead.

It’s not hard to understand. We ALL KNOW what happens to a car in the sun. The sun’s rays react to pollutants in the air the same way they react to a pane of glass. That simple.

And the only reason it’s “controversial” is because some people are MAKING MONEY by polluting the air, and have used their money to conduct a propaganda campaign. Just like the tobacco companies did to deny that smoking was bad for you.

CO2 levels are the highest they have been in 800,000 years, stop using fossil fuels or buy property at 300 feet above sea level, cause that’s where the ocean beach will be if all the ice melts.

My liberal sister and her husband live in the Bay Area in a house that is about six feet above sea level. If they were as worried about Global Warming as they claim, they should move.

If you do the math (I have) about how much the sea levels will rise if all these ice caps melt, you will see that the tens of millions of gallons that result from the melt are insignificant to the hundreds of trillions of gallons in the world’s oceans.

Instead of rusty recollections from people’s undergrad courses long ago, or preferred beliefs instead of data and other less informed approaches i figure that anyone who likes to think will like hard data. The NCA4 is out early. People do not have to fearful at people pointing out things based on data like the Earth not being flat and everything else not rotating around the Earth, or that climate change is real, as are evolution and plate tectonics.

To borrow part of a short paragraph from NPR:

    QUOTE

600-plus page Climate Science Special Report, which is part of an even larger scientific review known as the fourth National Climate Assessment. The NCA4, as it’s known, is the nation’s most authoritative assessment of climate science. The report’s authors include experts from leading scientific agencies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NASA and the Department of Energy, as well as academic scientists

    END QUOTE

    http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/11/02/561608576/massive-government-report-says-climate-is-warming-and-humans-are-the-cause

the conclusion is that humans are the primary cause of the warming and careful details are provided
