The tragedy is that irony doesn’t work on twitter.

I HOPE Pastis is right about this.

I don’t do Twitter or Facebook, and the fact that so many people do makes me feel like a superior being. In fact, I think I’ll work on some commandments:

1. Thou shalt not yell “Fake news!” every time someone provest thou wrong…

I’m pretty sure Pastis has drawn Twitterworld much too small. For one thing, some of them seem to vote.

Yes, life was better when we didn’t know about all the morons around us (and yet always existed).

If Twitter is bad, then what should we call Tumblr or the comments section on YouTube? I have never seen such hatred, self-righteous ignorance, and outright trollery :’(

I guess the nice thing about social media is you don’t have to smell their breath ;-) … Croc Power !

Twitter is evidence that they didn’t shut down the insane asylums. They just went online.

And unfortunately, the largest users of Twitter are supposedly professional journalists.

Social media is always blowing things out of proportions.

Does Pig even know what Twitter is?

I would wager cash money that Pastis means “any social media” (including comment threads for funnies), but that’s too vague and fuzzy. He picked one of the bigger names to focus our attention and give the punchline some punch.(but he’s absolutely right about Twitter…)

Actually in the Twitter world a LOT of tweeters have these certain “theories” of the outside world

The past few days this strips message is we’re wasting our lives on social media, or at least taking it way too serious. Pastis is right.

I don’t use Twitter and I tend to visit Facebook only rarely. This is part of the reason why.

Hi guys, I am new to the comments section, but not to the strip, I have read every one :)

Which is a good part of why I am not on Twitter. Or FB. Or any other “instant” media.

My phone is used for talking. Nothing else. No web, no pictures, no texts, no data, no emails.

My only non-direct interactions are in comment sections like this one. The rest is face to face or live voice to live voice. If it’s important you can call me. If not send an email and I’ll get to it when I arrive at the office or turn on the computer at home.

Pastis has been spending a lot of time and energy ranting about stuff that he implies that nobody should care about. He lost his “funny” somewhere.

It has often been said that Twitter is a sewer. So it’s no surprise that Rat would dwell on it….

They should play a game of soccer with the Twitter bubble.

You’re all selfish morons! Maybe it’s time I should tear down that old editorial cartoon my mom put up about Ebola. ‘Duh, we have a functioning CDC, therefore it’s not dangerous, duh.’

I got that idea from the News and from my knowledge of people. That’s one of many reasons I find this comic hilarious. Still, nothing will change if we don’t at least try to do something.
