When a lot of people don’t vote, there are two things you can do about it. You can get off your can and push for much-needed reforms in the electoral system that (among other things) are bound to raise turnout. Or you can play it safe, point the finger at non-voters, and repeat that lame message “Vote for the sake of voting!”
My friend Tom just died. At his funeral, his brother eulogized that Tom had a senior prom date who later married a Mr Brady, and they had a son who they named Tom. Yes, that Tom.
You have the right not to vote, however if you are eligible to vote and choose not to, you automatically give up the right to complain about the results.
Conversations with Pig require each term to be defined very, very, very carefully. (And that’s why we love the guy!) (By “love” I mean feel affection in a platonic sense… you get the point!)
Being able to vote in a democracy where votes count is a privilege and a obligation, where as voting in totalitarian regimes like Russia actually just supports the narrative of the dictator.Sadly in some countries the way the votes are counted means not all have equal influence, in fact in some places the “winner takes all” systems means many votes don’t count – not that democratic (looking at you US and UK).
Sorry this isn’t directly related to today’s comic, but has anyone else noticed that Zebra isn’t on the front or back cover of most “Treasuries”? I don’t have a complete collection but the last time I saw him was “The Crass Menagerie” in 2008. I wonder if he needs a new agent…
I have to keep reminding my democrat friends it’s my right to vote third or fourth party . No where in constitution does it say I have to vote on odds of candidate winning.

Voting is compulsory in Australia. Still doesn’t work, though. We just get a bunch of politicians.
