I think Marigold just complimented in her in her own way by complimenting herself.

Marigold definitely did a better job with Phoebe’s braids.

Marigold’s braids look more like cornrows to me.

One must be prepared to eat a few mud pies if one insists on playing with a child. It’ll pop an ego balloon like nothing else.

It’s good that Marigold didn’t upbraid Phoebe’s work.

Actually, it’s the one with at least a little truth. Having a reputation as a breaker of valuable objects is rather bad for one’s luck in finding a new position.

Gotta say this…one of the coolest strips here.
