Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for December 28, 2013
Transcript:
Phoebe: You have to calibrate a new year's resolution just right. If you overpromise, you just set yourself up for a really depressing failure. But if you pick something too easy, success isn't very satisfying. Marigold: You could resolve not to overthink traditions that are ultimately meaningless. Phoebe: But then what would I do with my time, over winter break?

How about you two resolve not to pick noses and gaze in to mirrors. I’ll let you girls decide who gets what resolution on your own.

Hhmmm…the girl has a Unicorn for a friend and wonders what she’ll do with winter vacation time. Maybe she’ll come up with something.

What to do over the winter break: Do your homework, practice the piano, play with Max and Marigold, not necessarily in that order.

It’s more difficult for kids, because, to most of them, the real New Year’s Day falls in early September. Unless they’re Jewish, of course; if they’re Jewish, they have four to worry about.

I can think of a millions things Phoebe can do other than focusing on New Year’s resolutions. :)
