So what did us old farts do on the bus before games? I read books-a good grunt would discourage those who persisted in trying to make me pay attention to them. (Always go for the window seat-you don’t have to get up when the person next to you gets off at their stop).
I didn’t realize they were on the school bus. It looked more like some sort of a lounge (at school) to me, though I didn’t quite think that through. Still, they ARE moving quickly from forest to highrise skyline back to forest within the space of a couple of sentences ;-)
I don’t remember there even being buses when I went to school, except later in high school that took sports teams from one place to another. It was a much kinder world back then, so far as kids walking a mile or so to school, much farther when I got to junior and high school. No one thought twice about it, parents nor children.
