Do not unicorns ALWAYS have a certain way of speaking? Namely, not utilizing contractions (“do not” as opposed to “don’t” for example)?

I LOVE that title! I might even want to read it :)

So do academics in general. Ambrose Bierce defined Erudition as “Dust poured out of a book into an empty skull.” I think, for the most part, he was correct.

Unicorns resemble the House of Lords in the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, who “said nothing in particular/And said it very well.”

@averagemoe: I’d get a bang out it. It rates right up there with Laurence J. Peter’s percussive sublimation.

You see if you like it when you’re assigned a 300 pg. report on: The Differences Between Horses and Unicorns.( I had to write a 300 pg. report on horses, I like horses, but no matter what, you DON’T want to write a 300 pg report!)

I guess Academia left more of a mark on me than I though, because I was able to follow along with Marigold’s thesis title.

How she’s able to write a whole thesis paper on the subject though, that I don’t know.

Sigh. Some things haven’t changed since the Middle Ages. Then it was Latin. Now it’s Academese. If you actually know what you’re talking about, and you actually want to convey it to other people, write like you do!

Makes you long for “Jokes for the John,” doesn’t it?

Forget it Phoebe. Learning all that title feels like homework itself.

Wow. I have a Creative Writing degree and even I’M not academic enough to understand all of that.

What normal kid wants more homework!!? But I keep forgetting that Phoebe is NOT normal…
