Imagine these two 15 years older and married.

Imagine this exact scene playing out, but with Phoebe laying on a couch, and Max in an armchair, with a notebook instead of a phone.

Antiyonder responding to Phoebe: Mm hmm.

Incidentally been marathoning Yu-Gi-Oh on TubiTV (Original and planning to finish GX Dubwise) and there’s a certain character that I’d expect to enjoy both Phoebe and Her Unicorn/Heavenly Nostrils and Pastel Unicorns.

I mean Japan or English Pegasus is part of his name.

The fact that I planned this comment before reading tonight’s strip with Max in a comment mentioning Maximillion J Pegasus is entirely accidental:-D.

oh, you’re a real listener, Max, to your friend’s trouble

its probably just hours of her talking about how amazing she is and how much she sparkles. You’ll be disappointed.

This have been highlighted year after year but it’s great to see a comic strip (an even a comic overall) were characters change their clothes on a regular basis!

Better learn to speak Rar first.

I know Phoebe likes Max, but for some reason, I can’t imagine those 2 2gether.

What is it about people wanting to know what you say about them in therapy? I never worry about that. But I have had several people ask me what I say about them…especially people I’ve dated. They should worry more if I said I don’t mention them in therapy. If you are dating someone and don’t get talked about in therapy…that’s a sign the relationship is probably doomed.

I suppose Max could be taking the same approach one Ozymandias Llewellyn does for his friend, Millie, and knows that, at this point, there’s no point in trying to talk you out of it now. :P

I think “mm hmm” in this case is shorthand for “I know better than to try to talk you out of it”.

And here we have the introduction of yet another language.

“Blaart.” “Rar.” “Glorp.” “Gyuh.” “Mm hmm.”

The funny thing is – even though Marigold said “bananas” didn’t we learn that therapy for Marigold was an opportunity to talk only about Marigold? Phoebe’s disappointment may be over how little air time she gets!

“Mm hmm” puts Phoebe’s problem in context.

Phoebe, hon, you should probably do something about that five o’clock shadow. (Yeah, I know it’s just shading, but it still looks a little weird to me.)

Max is a NATURAL therapist! :D
