I don’t make “to do” lists anymore. I find I accomplish more if I make a “done” list. It’s very satisfying to add something you’ve got done to the list each time. I’ve been known to push myself just so I can have another “done” thing!
I still make shopping lists…and almost always manage to leave them home when I go out. Anything really important gets written on a Post-It note and stuck where I will have to move it (and therefore see it).
orinoco womble, I like your idea of doing a “Done” list. I’ll have to try it. Looking at a To Do list does remind you what you have to do, but you can look around and see what those tasks are without doing a list.
BTW: I was a compulsive “to do” lister for 30 years as a professional operations manager and was more than once called anally retentive. Guess I’m payin’ back. Or payin’ forward? Ah, confession is good for the soul…
I’ve got more than one list app on my phone. Use one for my shopping list, of course I still have to remember to mark an item as needed, and I still leave the store thinking there was something else I needed.
Aside from having a very entertaining theme, the coloring of each panel is fantastic! You just don’t see the real art of this strip in other comic strips.

the satisfaction of being able to cross something off the list is what it is all about.

Ha! Maybe I shouldn’t admit it, but I’ve done that, too. But then again perhaps that’s because I’m around Opal’s age.

I’ve done that. It makes you feel more productive. I wonder if it’s related to my OCD.

I had “write a comment on Pickles” on my to-do list but as usual I can’t find it so I guess it won’t get done.

This Toon is a ‘direct hit’. Stuffy psychologists can learn a lot from humor.
