In the space of 4 months last year, downsized from a big 3-bedroom flat to a 2-bedroom apartment to our current 1-bedroom. Problem is, I was so zealous in clearing stuff out that I will have to eventually replace a few things.
I always thought I was saving things for my kids but when my folks died I found out I, my sister and my kids don’t want most of it! Our tastes in “stuff” are much different!
We went to my grandparents house with two pickups to get the things Grandpa had offered Daddy. My uncle came out to explain the other children were getting upset about all we were taking..Daddy explained Grandpa had offered it to him. Uncle GV agreed but that he had offered it to him and others too. They had decided to wait until he died so he could use it in the meantime..Daddy checked with Grandpa and verified he had been trying to get ANYBODY to take it and get it out of his way.

Call for a Salvation Army donation truck, Opal, at 1-800-728-7825 (I’m sure they don’t take lazy husbands).

When one starts de-constructing the nest, it’s time to start planning the appropriate ceremonies and legalities.
